Dr. Alon Mantel brings over 15 years of practical knowledge of human skin structure, function and pathology. His work contributed to the understanding of the molecular pathways involved in epidermal differentiation, abnormal scar formation, and progression of skin cancer. His research revolving human skin function and disease has been published in top journals and received several awards and recognitions by his peers.
At Tergus, Alon serves as the Head of Skin Biology where he directs studies addressing various challenges in early topical drug developmental stages. These include evaluating biological efficacy, minimizing skin irritation, optimizing dosage form and API concentration, screening of suitable NCEs, and more.
Dr. Mantel received his PhD training in skin biology at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Rochester, NY, and at the Skin of Color Research Institute at Hampton University.
